about

After meeting an extraordinary group of musicians, Montreal's very own Paulo Max Riccardo decided to arrange some ska/ reggae classics in an octet style.

Paulo is known around the Montreal Ska scene for once playing in reggae trio "FoOlish" and now known for playing drums in the band "K-Man and the 45s". He works a lot in the Montreal Jazz, Groove and Ska scenes and continues to try and make ska more accessible to musicians in other music genres and the general public. Paulo formed this ska collective of fellow music students and friends, now called The PMR Ska Collective. (sick)

This short 2-track EP was recorded in one night, with all 8 musicians recording at the same time (with some overdubs done later). Every member of the band recorded gang vocals for "You're Wondering Now", as well as doing some percussion overdubs.

The band really tried to capture a classic and yet modern feel for these tunes, trying to do them justice for the great compositions that they are. We hope that you have as much fun listening to them, as we did recording them!
